What browsers/devices are supported by Mursion?

If you're unsure if your browser/device is supported, you can use our Magic Test Site. For details on using the Test Site, see this support article.

Mursion Magic System Requirements

Most organizations using Mursion, use Mursion's web application, Mursion Magic to complete their simulations. For more information on navigating Mursion Magic, click here

Prior to your simulation time, you can test out your device and camera using the Mursion Magic test site.

Browsers

When connecting via Mursion Magic, learners can use any of the below device and browsers:

  • PC / Mac (laptops/desktops)
    • Google Chrome (recommended)
    • Safari
    • Microsoft Edge (v79 or later)
  • iOS (iPhone / iPad)*
    • Safari
  • Android (mobile)
    • Google Chrome
  • Chromebook
    • Google Chrome

Note*: When using an iPad to experience Mursion simulations, only the Safari browser is supported. More information on using an iPad here.

Mursion Magic does not currently support Firefox browser.

Use of other browsers not listed here may lead to issues during your Mursion experience, such as connection issues or inability to access resources. It can also be helpful to set your default browser to one of our supported browsers. This will ensure that clicking a link from Mursion will automatically open in a supported browser.

Internet Speed

In order to complete your Mursion simulation, you need a stable internet connection with at least 10mpbs download speed and 5mpbs upload speed.

Other Requirements

Mursion Magic simulations also require use of a camera and audio devices. See more details on these requirements below.

Zoom or Google Meet System Requirements

For some organizations, they may opt to complete Mursion simulations over Zoom or Google Meet. Please see the Zoom and Meet requirements below.

Peripherals

Webcam

To participate in a simulation, a user must have a webcam to connect. Depending on your organization's requirements, a learner may not have to turn the webcam on during the simulation. However, it is recommended to use the webcam throughout the simulation as this will allow the avatar to respond to your facial expressions and gestures. If using a laptop, you may use the built-in webcam.

  • Minimum resolution: 640x480

Speakers & Microphone

To participate in the simulation, a speaker and microphone must be used. Please consider the following when determining your audio setup:

  • Ensure that your microphone will only pick up your voice. If you expect a lot of background noise, use a headset or wireless microphone.
  • Likewise, make sure you can clearly hear the avatars. Laptop or TV speakers may be used, but if in a noisy environment, you may wish to use a headset.
  • Webcams with a built-in microphone are compatible - select the same device for both webcam and mic in the Mursion software.
  • Any standard USB headset microphone (while not required) is most compatible with the software.
